You really can spend the better part of a day here between the shopping center and the beach park. Ala Moana is one of the largest shopping malls in the United States and is certainly the biggest in Hawai'i. Yes, some of the shops are a bit touristy with Hawaiian shirts and vacation souvenirs, but you’ll also find a variety of high-end designer boutiques and affordable department stores.
There are over 160 restaurants offering a variety of dining selections to pique your tastebuds, including local Hawaiian and global cuisines. The Ala Moana Center also offers a colorful entertainment line-up of concerts and dance perforrmances.
One of our favorite things about this part of the city is that Ala Moana Beach Park is just minutes away. This is typically less crowded than Waikiki Beach and has a more authentic feel. You’ll see plenty of local families soaking in the sun or getting ready for a barbecue.
Ala Moana Beach Park has plenty of shade trees and picnic areas as well as a bike path, volleyball courts, concession stands, and recently renovated restrooms. This is also one of the best places to watch the sunset on Oahu, so consider shopping first, then spending your late afternoon and evening near the beach.

There are several parking garages located throughout the Ala Moana Center for your convenience. Ala Moana claims there are more than 11,000 parking spots available!
Parking is free if you plan to shop at the Ala Moana Center. You don’t need a validation ticket.
